Looking in CBC 722. what is the rating of a hollow CMU wall. originally built circa 1950?
Archaic Materials are no longer in the 2021 IEBC. You will need to use the 2018 or later IEBC.
Are you looking at a version published by ICC? State amendment?It's in mine. Resource A, at the very back of the book.
You can also contact The Masonry Institute for assistance, but you still need to know the thickness (width) of the wall and whether the blocks are lightweight, normal weight, or heavyweight CMUs.

I do not see Resource A in the 2021 IEBC -> https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/IEBC2021P2
It is available in the 2018 IEBC -> https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/I...e-ratings-of-archaic-materials-and-assemblies
Or it makes a reappearance in the 2024 IEBC -> https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/I...e-ratings-of-archaic-materials-and-assemblies
Interesting... I'm not sure why ICC does not have it published on their website as part of the 2021 IEBC.Well, that's interesting. I'm currently not in my office, and what I have available on-line is the 2021 IEBC, 1st printing, as downloaded from the ICC. We have the printed book in the office, and I'm fairly certain I have showed Resource A to applicants since we adopted the 21 I-Codes, but I can't be certain until I get back to the office.
It is definitely in the digital copy.
