We typically renovate older high-rise buildings that have evacuation signs on the back of the apartment doors. We review the old plan with the owner and fire department and install new signs.

In reading 403 and 404, it says that we need to develop an evacuation plan but it only has to be distributed to the tenants.

Is there some place in the code that requires it to be permanently installed?
