Mortarless Concrete Block Walls

A buddy brought these mortarless CMU walls (drystacked) to my attention and i've became intrigued after doing some research. I have found very little in the NY Residential Code saying I can or can not do this method but I do see dry-stacking has been mentioned in other state codes. Anyone have experience with these walls? Apparently they rely on an exterior and interior surface bonding cement parge and filling the cores solid every-so often.

I'm not familiar with them, but do they have an ICC-ES report indicating they are compliant? ICC Evaluation Service, LLC (ICC-ES)

Go to the National Concrete Masonry Association's website ( www.ncma.org ) and search their "e Tek" notes. They have done rather extensive testing on this type of wall assembly.
