    Substandard Retail Building

Well, it's been awhile. I heard from 2 sources that this particular building has been sold. The "new owner" has moved his thrift store into the building. This is the third "sale" of this property by the Ms Sunshine that I know about. Original buyer claims she still owns it. Can you say...

    LPG Tank and Gas Line

Well, here is the update. The line is still laying on the grass and no one has been back to bury the line. It is not protected in any way. The grass is getting long and the snowbird likes to get on her riding mower to keep her grass mowed. Sue

    LPG Tank and Gas Line

I hope that the contractor will be back tomorrow to bury the gas line. Yes, it was raining earlier in the day but they had disappeared by 2:30 pm and the weather had cleared. http://i1068.photobucket.com/albums/u452/fiddlefooted/Plumbing/LPGinstall2.jpg...

    Refusing inspection

I've done a few rentals before the tenant moved out. Made sure there was heat, electric and plumbing worked, roof didn't leak, porches safe, and checked for smoke and CO detectors. Sue

    No Water for sprinklers

Actually, the developer should have been aware of the CA codes requiring structures built in high fire areas to meet certain requirements of the fire code. There is a punch list of required items such as type of siding, roofing windows, facia etc. so, a water tank might not be totally out of...

    Bundle up its cold

They came through and cut back the snow piles/drifts so that the road is back to 2 lanes. They left me this little present: Its the snow boulder to the left of the bank. It was plopped in front of my pickup. Oy vey, it was a pain to move!Sue

Plan to Loosen Seismic Codes Could Save Homebuyers Money

Lynn, Ditto what Uncle Bob said. I was laid off last May, told it was budgetary, but, I know some of it was due to my refusing to roll over and play dead on a commercial project. Mayor was listening to the "developer" who didn't know his head from a hole in the ground. Oh, but I was the...

    RV's used as dwellings....

righter 101, State have anything? I've used the CA Health & Safety Code for some code enforcement situations that did not fall under IPMC or building codes. Sue

    RV's used as dwellings....

Planning & Zoning issue. City of Alturas allows RV to be parked & occupied for 72 hours outside of an RV park/campground. Must be moved to park if occupied as residence. County has a similar ordinance. Sue

    Needless electrocution

Very tragic. I am familiar with this type of issue due to living in Miami. I can think of a couple similar cases that happened when I lived there. Sue

    Bundle up its cold

County policy, $50 to issue permit. Footing, interior, and final are the three required inspections. Things are different here in the UP...... Sue

    ADA Excuses

City of Alturas' permit fees are based on valuation, not whether the project is commercial or residential. Churches are charged the same as everyone else for permits. Sue
