How to vent a floor sink when the nearest wall is ~10' away?

Ok, I didn’t ask a weir flood rim question. You misunderstood. Vertically, a vent servicing a trap cannot conform to code with a combination wye and 1/8 bend due to the weir being above the vent wye... All this other stuff is - I guess you just pontificating?

How to vent a floor sink when the nearest wall is ~10' away?

Well, the most difficult thing about learning to plumb to code is plumbing drain, waste and vent to code. I just have never encountered an inspector who understood how to inspect the items above; distances before and after trap seal (weir), etc. I didn’t have a question, really. Just wondered...

When can you not use pier footers for building a small house in Upstate NY

Louie, you’re a whining bore. If I were an inspector, being human, I’d probably get fed up with your demeanor as well. You say you owe your designer. He provided you drawings. You haven’t paid him. You’re upset that more drawing/designing is necessary = more $. But you’ve already welched on the...

Run natural gas line through stuccoed wall.

Foam wrap, secured by 10 mil tape. This is common practice. Actually just the 10 mil tape extending an inch past finish for residential is protection enough. This precaution is addressing the concern which is open to interpretation. Btw: galvanized underground no more! Coated rigid or poly...

Correct installation of coupling on cut sewage gas PVC pipe through roof

AAVs aren’t a right; subject to LA approval. And they fail. Btw: sometimes service plumbers get fed up with fixing things for free and just don’t have the patience with homeowners complaining about money to the plumber who’s hoping he’s got enough money to make his insurance payments

When can you not use pier footers for building a small house in Upstate NY

I was going to post pictures of my cabin with a loft/second story on Sono-Tube piers that I’m building right now. I don’t see how to attach pics, guys?

When can you not use pier footers for building a small house in Upstate NY

Sounds like money is the issue; the designer wants his grand, the building department is looking for a soils engineering report/geotechnical possibly as well, and every item translates to $$$ for the little guy just wanting to swing a hammer. I can relate. “Engineer” was a cuss word in my house...

Public school shower concrete trench drain

That’s going to be difficult to argue in your favor - if two showers are sharing one trap.... Hey, how come you’re not RFI-ing to the architect/DSA?

How to vent a floor sink when the nearest wall is ~10' away?

We have a drinking fountain in CA that we were supposed to run a loop vent for and forgot/overlooked. The 1.5” drain line cannot be vented conventionally because of a window directly above it’s structural steel building posts on either side. We submitted an RFI (Request For Information) asking...
