    Residential Plan Review

I agree that a plan reviewer may question aspects of design done by a LDP, but to question (for instance) the size of a pier that has been engineered would require the reviewer to review the mathematics behind the sizing, and IMHO that is practicing engineering. I recall once that Peach made the...

    Working clearance in 2002 NEC?

Inspected an old project yesterday which was approved back when the 2002 NEC was adopted. My office does not own such a book, could anyone tell me what the minimum required service clearance around a panel board was in that edition? Thanks in advance

    Residential Plan Review

I agree with this assessment and believe it is the same in my State, and also speaks to a number of threads we have had on this board about plan review.

We require a storm water management plan designed by a licensed design professional for residential (as well as commercial) where the lot coverage of impervious material is proposed to be more than a certain percent (of the lot size).

    catheral cielings ridge beam

I am talking about picking an engineered product out of a table after having determined the loading. I personally would not have my office document the use their(our) own calculations for the approval file as I think that would be a practice that might invite liability.

Ridge supported by a wall or girder.

I agree and I think that is why that section cites a beam OR WALL supporting the ridge. In the old days it was commonly the center bearing wall that supported the ridge (and center bearing wall that supported the centerline all the way down through the building. So it doesn't have to be a beam...

Ridge supported by a wall or girder.

I am not at all fond of that handout as it (imho) incorrectly discusses Collar ties as used in common dimensional framing. This handout appears to be discussing timber frame which has different properties.

    Commercial in residential accessory structure

You could look into that, sure.Regarding the adopted State Code being enforced, there are lots of provisions in the adopted codes that are not strictly enforced. Sometimes we just do what we can keeping in mind "safety first". If we can pass the safety test, every thing else is secondary. Unless...

    Commercial in residential accessory structure

Alright then I will 'splain what we do here, which no doubt will engender a lot of criticism. First let me emphasise that I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ZONING CODE AND BUILDING CODE. Nevertheless, we allow Home Occupations within certain parameters. I don't know that our specific parameters...

    Brewpub doesn't fit... Solution?

If more space is allocated to the brewing v.s. the tasting, and they would be selling retail and probably wholesale also (small), you would not consider the F2 as a use? tasting room hold about a dozen, so it would be B in any case, like the rest of the building

    Brewpub doesn't fit... Solution?

Yes F2 but this building is ok for unseparated use under H&A table with the F2 being the most restrictive. Just the possibility of separation for the brewing area due to some reason having equipment that would require such.
