    I am new to the forum have questions about new construction and electrical work installed into code violating framing.

    If the gc told the electrician the framing was complete and the wiring could start … it’s on the gc. If the homeowner did the framing and the electrician showed up when requested … on the homeowner.

    I forgot … the Engineer sits at the right hand of God and cannot be bothered to interact with mere mortals, the great unwashed caste of contractors. What if it’s a design-build, and the gc engaged the engineer? And more to the point, the contractor has the ability to submit an RFI directly...

    Yes it’s splitting hairs, but it’s the contractors responsibility to follow the specs or get approval to deviate.

    Yes but. There are a thousand regs in place to protect the environment and people. But someone needs to verify the installer is following the rules. That’s where the permit comes into play.

    You posted this same issue a month ago on a building forum, and you beat it to death. You were told many times that, as long as it meets every code item, there’s not much that can be done about it.

    Some jurisdictions don’t save old plans. And if they did, they would not go looking for them when you submit the application, you would have to get a copy of the plans and attach them to your application.
