Most commonly found code violations according to U.S. code officials.

I did not respond! The problem I see is that the builders and contractors don't care to read the instructions. My larger jobs with good oversight, DP and engineering oversight on the progress of the job seem to get most everything right.

    NEC 690.47 Grounding Electrode System

Still think this can be an AHJ call. If it is within 6' not needed. I agree with Steveray on it shall have a system.

Can you tie a downspout into the footer drainage system?

Storm drains can be 1%. The connection is at the end of the building. At that point Assuming from only 1 photo that this drain will drain to daylight. That would have to be solid pipe. The footing drain is not installed properly to begin with. That I would fail. We are mixing apples and crap.

    NEC 690.47 Grounding Electrode System

ON the surface I would say yes the existing grounding could be used. But 690.47 is saying you need to add an additional system. This to me could be decided by the AHJ. But 690.47 A contains the word shall.

When Mechanical Inspectors and Electrical Inspectors Need to Talk

I believe in multi discipline inspectors. Both of my electrical inspectors are only just that electrical inspectors. So in that case we talk all the time. Have not had a pit situations in quite a long time, but there are many other areas that are of concern.

Anybody had any experience with air quality from booth exhausts? I have a mold factory that uses a fiberglass spay for certain molds. As of late I am receiving complaints.

Can you tie a downspout into the footer drainage system?

North star this is thin wall pipe. It is not glued. Rain leaders on the exterior of the building are not tested.

Can you tie a downspout into the footer drainage system?

First, the footing drain has no stone on top. It should be rapped in filter fabric, not just straw. Straw when bye, bye near the end of the 80's. Now I am dating myself. The footing drain appears to be connected at the end of the foundation. If it is solid pipe from that point I see no problem...

    What Wire Size Is Required?

Without seeing the breaker off the top of my head was the # 8. There are many factors to be considered. How far away is the breaker and under which code. Wire size to my knowledge has not changed over the last three code cycles.

    racking/bolting

It appeared that the rack on the left was slightly deformed to start. May be just the photo angle. Another thing to keep in mind is the emergency lighting. You cannot CO a project like that one or any big box until it is stocked and ready for business. Kill the power and see id you can see the...

2009 IRC Energy Code for Ceilings Inspector Disagreement

I would first ask him for a copy or a link to the local ordinance. If it calls out R-48 then he wins. If not you can talk to who ever is in charge of the town or file an appeal. Try to be professional and not lose you cool. The second part of your question is a bite tricky. I suggest rather than...
