Program Description

On March 15, 2012, the 1991/1994 Americans with Disability Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) will no longer be an acceptable design standard nationwide. On that date, the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design (SAD) will be the only acceptable federal design standard. This full - day program will study the 2010 DOJ Standards for Accessible Design from cover to cover. This newly developed program is not a comparative analysis between the old and new standards. This training will cover scoping and technical requirements for accessibility to new or altered buildings and facilities by individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. This highly interactive and concentrated course is intended to last 8 hours. This is an advanced curriculum for professionals in construction, design, government, codes and others with a professional interest and extensive experience in accessibility design.

Who should attend?

The seminar will be held at the City of Omaha Public Safety Training Center located at 11616 Rainwood Road.

I appreciate this kind of information and these updates. Unfortunately this is far too far away. At any rate, with a little luck, someday they may get a similar type of training in my neck of the woods.

Thanks again.

Rich is a very informative person when it comes to ADA and a great resource to have down the road. If you can attend the training, do so.

Rich is from your neck of the woods, or prairie in this case, isn't he? I have attended two of his seminars, and have contacted him several times in the past regarding gray areas. I like his approach.

Yes, he is from the KC area but has moved up more your direction lately. I've never sat in on one of his classes, I just know him as a close friend. He has a great approach in dealing with people in general and loves his job.
