Any New York State building inspectors?

Interested in becoming an inspector, I’ve been reading and studying the manuals but the websites are a bit confusing. Would love it if I can talk with a New York State inspector to understand the prerequisites and ask some questions and get some guidance of what types of classes or exams I need to take to get the job. This has been my dream job for a few years now and I now have the opportunity to change my career and want to take advantage of it. Thanks for any help.

What types of places hire building inspectors aside from working for the state, town, county etc?

There are third party inspection companies.


This is one not sure if they are in your state

I would stick with the ny training.

You may have to get ICC certs though.
