I have an existing auto dealership that is doing some remodeling. They

are proposing to install a new counter top area with a small sink and

have it listed as a Service Refreshments area.

QUESTION: Would this new counter top area fall under any ADA

requirements (heights, reach ranges, front approach - knee & toe

clearances, other)? I am looking in the 2003 ANSI A117.1, Ch. 9 -

Built-In Furnishings and Equipment.

Thanks for any input

Yes...I would say all of the above under ADA........and probably ANSI as it does not seem to be an employee work area that might be exempt...To revise and expand....it should need some compliant approach and clear floor space, not necessarily front approach...
