Egress Map in Elevator Lobby in California

I have searched the CBC and read through guides and to some extent Title 19 (that I could find online) and I cannot find if the egress plan found in elevator lobbies has to be in a specific location. I think 1117 discusses the 60" mounting height for permanent signs, but we want to move away from the push buttons for aesthetic reasons. Anyone know of a regulation?
 
Check the CA fire code chapter 4 and CA Code of Regulations, Title 19, Division 1, §3.13(a)(2) et al
