Have a new or redone outdoor tennis and paddle ball courts that are built into a rather steep hill side. Because of the elevation changes an exterior elevator has been installed to handle accessible access to each of the three levels. What brail and signage requirements are required.

IBC

Tactile exit signs.

EXIT and complying with ICC A117.1 shall be provided adjacent to each door to an area of refuge, an exterior area for assisted rescue, an exit stairway, an exit ramp, an exit passageway and the exit discharge.

Floor Identification Signage

Stairway identification

All permanent rooms and spaces

Elevator controls, buttons required to be tactile

Other wayfinding signage not required to be tactile.

And by the way it is more than braille it is Tactile signs. Which includes raised letters

What is required and what should be done, is not always the same....

Forgot to read my own post! Well the state has signed off on the elevator. No signage and no Tactile! Hum! Huston we have an issue.

I guess I will be calling PA L&I on this.

It is 2009 IBC and state changes made under Act 1 of 2011.
