Building sits on a street side property line with a five foot side walk from the building to the street curb, the exterior wall is required to be 1-hr fire rated if on the property line. Is the window glass required to be 1-hr fire rated or does the five foot sidewalk or street allow for less restrictive rating on the window glass? A code reference would be helpful? Table 602 requires the 1-HR.

In addition to Table 602 review Section 705.8 for allowable openings. Where openings are not permitted the glazing if provided shall be Fire-resistance rated (see definition below).

Fire Separation Distance is measured to the center of the public way (street or sidewalk).

TABLE 602
FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING REQUIREMENTS FOR EXTERIOR WALLS BASED ON FIRE SEPARATION DISTANCE

FIRE SEPARATION DISTANCE. The distance measured from the building face to one of the following:

1. The closest interior lot line.

2. To the centerline of a street, an alley or public way.

3. To an imaginary line between two buildings on the lot.

The distance shall be measured at right angles from the face of the wall.

Fire-rated glazing can be of two types—fire-resistance rating or fire protection rating.
1) Fire-resistance rated glazing is tested to ASTM E119 or UL 263, may be used in walls and is not considered as an opening.
2) Fire-protection-rated glazing is tested to NFPA 257 or UL 9, and is usually in doors or limited size window openings in fire barriers and fire partitions

Thank you Francis, that's what I was looking for, the street separation, you gotta look in the definition!

Also look at Section 705.8.1, Exception 1 (2012 IBC), regarding openings on the first story.

The property line is at the building wall.

There is recessed street parking in front of the building and a sidewalk at the curb which is in front of the building's front wall.
5-ft wide sidewalk + 20-ft parking stall then a street lane 12 ft +/- wide to center line of street.

At a 30-foot FSD, then you’re permitted unlimited openings per Table 705.8 if not sprinklered and there’s no requirement if sprinklered (meaning, unlimited openings).
