This must have been a very old generator that just kept going. I'm curious about this one.

JOPLIN, Mo. - The Joplin Fire Department says an overloaded generator led to an electrical fire at a home in Joplin today (Aug. 26).

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 603 S. Monroe. The first crew arrived at 12:32 pm to find a one-story single family house with heavy fire and smoke coming from the back porch.

Crews made a transitional attack and then went into the home to extinguish the fire, according to the Fire Department.

There was one resident inside at the time of the fire. A Joplin Police Officer, who arrived just before firefighters, helped the resident out of the home.

The JFD says there were no utilities at the home. The Fire Marshall investigated. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical due to an overloaded generator.
