Came into work this AM and there was a letter for me from the local petroleum jobber. I open it up and it is announcing the opening of a new cardlock at 100 N. Main St. The listed address is the address of a clothing/housewares/dollar store.

I wonder if it is XYZ gas staion. I go up to the flashing light where the two highways meet and there are new pumps at that station. Address of this station is 100 E. 12th St. Oops, wrong address on the mailer.

What I did observe while driving by were new gas pumps. My question is, as they replaced the pumps, are any permits required? This particular contractor is a PITA and never gets permits. When they get a permit for a heater, no one ever calls for an inspection. You get the picture........

Sue, in cold rainy CA....

Absolutely permits are required. And the pumps, fittings, electrical, etc all have to be inspected. And because it is CA the local air quality district has to be involved.

FyrBldgGuy -

Thanks for the fast reply. The other agencies - fire, enviro health - are out of the office until next year. I'll check with them next week and see if anyone was contacted.

Sue, on the frontier

Ditto to FyrBldgGuy, accept here in this neck of the woods in CO, we don't get the enviro folks invloved. There are a lot of electrical requirements.

Our enviro guy is the one with the HAZMAT training and is also a volunteer fireman. More of a heads up for him than anything.
