in my Country we just approved low witch is close similar to IBC 2018. In my company we are preparing to built high-rise apartment building with accordance to mentioned low
Question
As per IBC sprinklers should be installed ALL OVER building ? what about dwelling units ? lets say bad rooms, living room....? how you people deal with it ? If you imagine you have 500 dwelling units equipped with sprinklers, all experienced in this field knows that soon or later at least one of sprinklers will activate (due to technical issues and not fire , lats say one owner decides to change light bulb, he hires electrician and this electrician or any other worker accidentally brakes the glass of sprinkler with hand tool or something like that, or due to poorly made connection ...) and then all water spreads all over apartment . Just imagine the owner payed thousands and thousands for TV..... , even apartment below will be partially flooded , lots of problems ?
I'm ok with sprinklers all over building (except electrical rooms ......) in corridors and so on but inside apartments ???
Please advice how you deal or how you imagine to deal with sprinklers inside apartments ?? is there any way to substitute sprinklers with detection or announcement or with anything else
