Our HOA clubhouse was built under NBC 1996 and designated A2 Use Group. Is that the same classification as A2 occupancy in the IBC 2021 code? Thanks.

NBC1996 vs IBC 2021

No you would be an A-3 under the IBC

Thx. I tried to find NBC 1996. Do you have it or can you tell me how to find it? A3 sounds right for an HOA clubhouse.

I don't have it but click on the word member (not the down arrow) scroll down and you will see Staff Members click on Glenn and you can private message him. He collects old code books and may be able to help

A-3 should be OK as long as you don't have sit-down meals. Food & drink consumption would make it A-2.
