Despite the crisis in Flint, MI, a report from the U.S. Green Building Council finds that most states still don’t have laws that require testing school water for lead – and not all that do have the laws require parental notification about the results.

SC Department of Education - Office of School Facilities required testing of water if systems are new or extended or modified. Existing schools do not have to test water. Although not a State Law, it is a part of the department guidelines and regulations.
