I am curious if anyone is familiar with or has insight related to Tremco Alumanation 301. A company is asking to install this on the existing roof. I believe this product does not have a fire rating. Nothing related to the structure is changing just adding the coating. Curious if you would allow this to be used. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Do you have a code section you are thinking of? No paint has a "fire rating".....

If the existing roof was metal, I would assume two things. It probably had a factory coat of paint on it when it was installed. That factory coat of paint also did not have a fire rating.

It's aluminized paint. It's been used for decades. I've seen it on a lot of roofs and I've never even thought about code conformance.
The question was asked by the company putting it on asking for an approval by a fire code official which struck me as odd. I was more curious why they would ask for that and if I was missing something obvious.
