A client changed an unoccupied storage addition to a small engine repair shop. Lawnmowers, chainsaws, and including boat engine repair. He does not repair vehicles.

Classified it as S-1. Would small engine kick this into an Auto Repair classification? Because the use as a repair garage requires ventilation accordingly, I am assuming.

I know that this is now classified as an occupied building, so this affects toilet accessibility.

Thanks.

REPAIR GARAGE. A building, structure or portion thereof used for servicing or repairing motor vehicles.

Motor vehicle is not defined, but repair garage is in the IFC....I would not call a weedwhacker a MV.....

Interesting that if you are rebuilding an aircraft engine it is F-1, but if you are repairing an aircraft (presumably including repairing that aircraft's engine), it is not F-1.

Also, if the engine you are rebuilding is for a Formula 1 vehicle, it is F-1^2.
