When a contractor has too many expired permits

Zoning in one jurisdiction prohibited another zoning compliance to be given unless any and all open permits were closed on a piece of property.

    Exterior Deck

I think the total occupancy would be limited by the infrastructure provided - i.e. the total number of plumbing fixtures provided. MOE is only regulated by the area served -

    Expired Permits

One of the municipalities I worked for had it in the zoning ordinance that building permits would not have zoning approved for projects with open building/zoning permits. If a permit expired and was left open in the records, an permit had to be purchased to inspect existing conditions and any...

You might want to visit ADA's page for some videos - it is on the circulation route between the water closet and the lavatory. How does a patron transition fro one to the other

Also add the projection of the paper towel dispenser exceeds the 4" maximum allowed by ICC/ ANSI/ ADA. Hook on compartment door, self closing door, etc.

    ADA Bathrooms 2018

I do not have a problem with either, however I do have a problem with the overlap on the water closet because the floor flange of the water closet does not allow the clear floor space required for the knee/toe clearances. I believe the top clearance has to extend to the ground without obstruction.

    Workspace 110.26 issue or not?

I believe yes is the correct answer - something about a maximum of six inch projection below the panel board if memory serves me correctly....

    Adding Onto Recently Completed Building

Wish we followed NFPA Guidelines in this aspect - IF the building was built under the same building code as the proposed addition; it would still be considered a "new" building.

    Clean room walls

Maybe I am missing something, but isn't this regulated by Chapter 26 Plastics - Pull out the commentaries and read about 2606 - besides type II B has limitations and unless it is specifically addressed in section 603 as an exception to type II B construction, it cannot be used. What say ye?

    ADA Compliant Restaurant Bathrooms

What ICC ANSI is adopted in your region? SC required 67" turning radius - FYI Also different size water closet clearances are required for floor mount or wall mount water closets - use the larger clear space required and this won't ever be an issue.

Determination of Occupant Load for an Existing 1 storey building.

Occupant load is based on available floor space of the tenant - The older Southern Building Code Congress used to allow us to post Occupant Content based upon means of egress provided........ the allowable number of people based upon egress width. However, I would prefer a multi-faceted look...

    Code for drop ceiling removsl

Cost varies by region - however, the lower sprinkler heads would need to be removed with the upright fire sprinkler heads remaining in the exposed areas under the gypsum board above. Problems could occur with cold spots being created by the lower fire sprinkler heads activating and not allowing...

Jeff. Enjoy the dark side - politics and political pressure are a bummer - for the most part, employees are decent and try to do the right thing. It is when they start becoming unhappy that BS tends to happen - including fireable offenses for employees. Just be sure to stop and reevaluate...
