    Requesting Variance for Sprinklers

Now now, he can claim the overhead door as an exit if the total allowable occupant load for the building is under 10........... Meanwhile, I am getting popcorn to watch this. Also just for thought, main exit has to be sufficient to handle 50% capacity of assembly......along with other issues...

    Idle Pallets

bet it isn't as well built and won't hold up to as much abuse..... That was mine experience with newer fire trucks vs. the 69 American LaFrance or the 75 Mack CF600 than ran no matter what ---

    Idle Pallets

Boy I wish I had known about the code strecher - we always ribbed rookies about going to get the hose stretcher when a hose line was short..... Besides, I don't think that the federal government has an UN number for idle pallets as a flammable solid -

    Old Code Interpretation

Personally, I don't think it is a great idea.... however, you can't make things happen if they were not required.

    Idle Pallets

Look at High Piled storage requirements of the fire code - I believe the pallet height is limited to 6 feet or it becomes a high piles storage commodity. Also, beware of plastic pallets vs wood pallets.

    Work area caculation

It would appear as the shaded areas would be applicable to me. At one time, the work area would include any spaces required for scaffolds, ladders, etc. butt he wording of the code changed and it appears to me that the designer provided exactly what was required by code.

    GFCI at floor sink?

floor sinks generally are not readily accessible in most cases - also they generally are equipment specific and not designed for general floor drainage - i.e. tilt kettle. And to be a little bit more specific, our Health department will not require floor sinks to be connected to a grease traps...

Open Yards in A-5 unlimited Area Occupancies

The stage and auxiliary areas are more of an A-3 occupancy, the seating portion of the facility is more like a A-5. However, the caveat is that A-5 occupancies are for outdoor viewing only. Since the stage is indoor and not being view outdoors per sec, I believe it more closely resembles an A-3...

CBC and CMC regarding fire dampers

You won't find the answer in the code - it is going to be dependent upon the manufacture listing of the Hood System..... I know of one hood system with fire suppression that require exhaust to close for proper operation of grease duct extinguishment. Weird and really expensive hood system with...

How many people do you think will be allowed in this space? MA

Need to hire architect, most state laws require an architect when dealing with assembly. Check your local laws and see if you need an architect before committing to anything - it may be more of a snowball than you want to tackle.
