this was quite a shaker at my house - I was in bed luckily. If i had been walking or standing I don't think you could have kept your feet. Living up here I have been through many. Some can cause disorientation feelings, some are hard jolts, some are rollers - often times an aftershock can be there also. Last night was more the real strong roller and longer lasting. The house sounds like an out of balance washing machine. You don't go back to sleep either - you lay there for a period of time hoping there will not be more. Then its up you go to walk around (no serious damage that I found). The tsnunami warnings came directly to our cell phones. Local emergency management also robocalled us. Our system of warnings is greatly improved. USGS also has lots of info. One is just how fast tsunami's can go from Alaska to the west coast.
