2019 NFPA and ASME 17.1 Elevator Hoitway Changes

I am just wondering what contractors are doing or experiencing to accommodate the changes to 2019 NFPA 72 21.3.7 and ASME 17.1 2.8.2.4 that requires initiating devices in elevator hoistways be accessible for service, testing and maintenance from outside the hoistway. Are contractors using air sampling detectors and Linear heat detectors to accommodate this change?
