Under ansi.a117.1.2009, what's the max for a condiment counter and a trash base cabinet in a restaurant?

If 36", can you point me to the code that allows this?

I've gone back and forth on this with multiple contractors and inspectors.

Wouldn't the obstructed side reach control if you're just taking items off a shelf, and doing any work on the counter?

Don't know about Ansi.

ADA 904.5.1 applies to "Self-Service Shelves and Dispensing Devices", which would apply to a condiment counter IMO, says to go to 308. 308 would limit you to 34" a.f.f.

ADA fig. 308.3.2 limits the obstruction (counter) to 34" high, but would allow the condiments themselves to be at 46" to 48".
