· 8:46a.m. – American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower (1 WTC)

· 9:03a.m. – United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower (2 WTC)

· 9:37a.m. – American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon

· 9:58a.m. – The South Tower collapses

· 10:03a.m. – United Airlines Flight 93 crashed by heroic passengers into ground atShanksville, PA

· 10:28a.m. – North Tower Collapses

From the New York Times:

  • Total number killed in attacks (2009): 2,975
  • Number of firefighters and paramedics killed: 344
  • Number of Police officers: 60
  • Number of nations whose citizens were killed in attacks: 115
  • Number of people who lost a spouse or partner in the attacks:1,609
