Access Board Webinar: Accessible Playground Surfaces (October 3)

The next webinar in the Board's free monthly series will take place October 3 from 2:30 – 4:00 (ET) and will cover accessible surfaces for playgrounds. In this session, Board staff and a representative from the National Center on Accessibility (NCA) will present results from a recently completed study on playground surfaces that assessed how well various types of surface systems, including engineered wood fiber, poured in place rubber, and rubber tiles, perform over time. NCA conducted this research with funding from the Board.

I just received this email:

The October 3, 2013 AccessibilityOnline Session titled “Accessible Playground Surfaces” has been cancelled. Because of the absence of a Fiscal Year 2014 appropriation , the U.S. Access Board is compelled to shut-down its operations. We hope to reschedule the session, once a continuing resolution or current year appropriation has been signed into law.Questions can be directed to training@access-board.gov regarding this matter.

The Great Lakes ADA Center will retain the registration records for those that registered for this session on our website AccessibilityOnline. When and if this session is rescheduled we will notify you of the new date. You will not be required to re-register for the rescheduled session. Questions regarding your registration can be made to info@accessibilityonline.org.

Thank you and we look forward to resuming the AccessibilityOnline program once a continuing resolution or current year appropriation has been signed into law.
Bummer.
