Does anyone know if the exception about not accommodating maneuvering clearances on the unit side of a Type B primary door in 2003 A.117.1 applies to A.117.1 2009 as well? If so, where would one look for that?

1004.5.1 Primary Entrance Door. The primary
entrance door to the unit shall comply with Section
404.
EXCEPTION: Maneuvering clearances
required by Section 404.2:3 shall not be
required on the unit side of the primary
entrance door.

The exception was changed to something else. The exception in the 2003 edition of ANSI A117.1 does not exist in the 2009 edition.

Thanks @north star, unfortunately the following is all I see in 2017. No mention of the maneuvering clearances on the unit side of a Type B primary door. :\

Am I to assume maneuvering clearances are required on the unit side of the primary door in a Type B unit?

Ryan,

In lieu of no specific language Section 1105.2 DOES say "
all other doorways".
