i just completed a simple add one sink to an existing six business building where i noticed the vent for the sink didn't make it thru the roof? in fact there were no penetrations of any kind thru the roof in the entire facility. all of the fixtures in this building were vented into the attic and i guess that was good enough for one of the previous inspectors? i told the so called plumber who saw fit to continue the practice that he just got himself a lot of work! he smiled:mrgreen:

YA! Just had a similar issue. Very minor addition and the day I did the rough it was pouring rain. Simple kitchen sink add on. After the test I left. At final walked around the addition for final inspection. The vent pipe was 1' away from the bed room window above. Inspection failed. They argued that I had approved it at rough. Yes I said I did. But I did not approve the location of the vent in reference to the window. Two things I learned. Carry and umbrella and a second pair of shoes for those days! Vent was moved to proper location.

same kind of issue... VTR.. high efficiency furnace intake.. one of them needs to move.

Food for thought: When doing rough in and final inspections, look for the vent termination near windows, etc. and on finals look out and about the windows for violations.
