Per A117.1-2009 Figure 604.10 and A117.1-2021 Figure 604.10.1, the distance from the centerline of the toilet to the partition must be 17” to 19”.An ambulatory toilet stall is 37" wide and 60" long. The toilet-center-to-partition wall dimension is 17" to the right, 20" to the left. Given the Accessibility Code language, is this code compliant?
You’ll want to confirm which version of A117.1 is in effect for your project because some things change between versions. For example, in the two figures referenced above, in A117.1-2009 the stall width is an absolute 36”, in A117.1-2021 the width is 35” to 37”.Given the Accessibility Code language, is this code compliant?
And I am still trying to get them to fix the min. ambulatory stall depth to match wheelchair depth....Because they get pissed when they have to rip out all the stalls and start over at CO inspection....Per A117.1-2009 Figure 604.10 and A117.1-2021 Figure 604.10.1, the distance from the centerline of the toilet to the partition must be 17” to 19”.

This might be relatively easily fixed if you can pad out the side that is 20” from the toilet to bring that down to 19”.
Currently the requirement is 35" - 37". The concern would be if the 17" - 19" dimension is required on both or just one side of the water closet center line.Per A117.1-2009 Figure 604.10 and A117.1-2021 Figure 604.10.1, the distance from the centerline of the toilet to the partition must be 17” to 19”.

Both....they don't want you to reach too far for the grab bars rendering them less useful...Currently the requirement is 35" - 37". The concern would be if the 17" - 19" dimension is required on both or just one side of the water closet center line.
Why would the depth of an ambulatory stall have to match the depth for a wheelchair, ambulatory stalls are intended for people who can walk. And I am still trying to get them to fix the min. ambulatory stall depth to match wheelchair depth....
Both sides. The 35” to 37” width of the stall and the 17” to 19” centerline dimensions have to be coordinated. The concern would be if the 17" - 19" dimension is required on both or just one side of the water closet center line.
The ambulatory stall is the only one that is still 60”Why would the depth of an ambulatory stall have to match the depth for a wheelchair, ambulatory stalls are intended for people who

I just go ahead and make them all 60" deep.
