Any requirement for sprinklers for a swimming pool pump room?

A client is asking me to investigate Code Requirements for sprinklers in a swimming pool pump room and provide sprinkler design.
This is an open swimming pool, not covered.
Applicable Codes are UFC/IBC/NFPA.

I have not found any hints of a Code for a pool pump room requiring sprinklers. I cannot think of a reason to spend money on such a project.
Is there anything I am missing? This is (obviously) a G project.

What are the quantity amounts of hazardous chemicals that will stored in the pump room?
If you exceed the allowable amounts then the pump room becomes an "H" occupancy.

Our city put in an outdoor public pool designed around a minimal amount of Chlorine stored in the pump room so no sprinklers would be required. 3 years later a fire inspection of the pump room revealed 3 times the allowable amount being stored in the room. The reason given for having so much on site was the shipping cost savings for ordering a large amount of hazardous chemicals once a year during the summer season versus 4 times during the season. Parks department had to buy a couple of sheds to separate the chlorine into allowable quantities.

Is the pump room attached to the main structure and is the main structure protected with a sprinkler system?

Sorry if I'm not grasping the design, I did pick up on the pool being open and not covered.

We make them put a sprinkler head in a janitors closet.

There is no main structure.
Just an open air swimming pool, with the pump room being the only enclosed space.
I recall a small canopy over a broil king BBQ and a small fridge for beer ;)

Unless the quantities of dangerous liquids stored in mechanical rooms supporting an outdoor swimming pool exceed the MAQs, what would the occupancy classification of be?

I am only looking at the fire protection implications.
Group U maybe? S-2?

Group U definition is
"Buildings and structures of an accessory character and miscellaneous structures not classified in any specific occupancy shall be constructed, equipped and maintained to conform to the requirements of this code commensurate with the fire and life hazard incidental to their occupancy. "

And going with Group U practically exempts these areas from all requirements. Not even emergency lighting....

The International Swimming Pool and Spa Code's only reference to fire is a reference to NFPA 70 Electrical Code.....

Looking at IBC section 903 for sprinklers, according to art. 903.2.1.5:
"Group A-5. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided for all enclosed Group A-5 accessory use areas in excess of 1,000 square feet (93 m2)."

Does this mean the aggregate area, or fire areas of 1,000 square feet?
I have 900 square feet of storage on ground level and another 500 feet at 10 feet below that , separated by a concrete slab.
Access to the lower level is by an external open staircase.
Should I add the two levels and go for sprinklers because of that?
