Let's talk about something that's been buzzing in the industry—Energy Storage Systems. With solar panels popping up on rooftops like daisies in spring, it's high time we discuss the elephant in the room:

Should building codes start including provisions for home batteries? I mean, we've got NEC 706 for energy storage, but how many inspectors are actually enforcing it? And let's not forget, these batteries aren't just glorified AAAs; they're complex systems that need proper installation and safety measures. So, are we dropping the ball by not making energy storage a mandatory part of the building code, or are we just setting up homeowners for a shocking surprise down the line? What's your take?

FYI....2021 IRC really dropped the ball on "rooms" and not addressing doors/ openings for any of yall that gas a chance to "fix" it....

So you have to 5/8" the room, but you can have an 8' louvered bi-fold door....
