Our next monthly meeting of the Cape Fear Chapater of ASCET will be this Thursday August 30, 2012 at the McKeithan Center cafeteria at CFCC's North Campus from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Executive Board members are asked to arrive at 5:30 for a Board Meeting. The grill will be open with regular menu items for those who would like to eat. Our guest speaker will be Captain Ken Bogan, Fire Marshal of the Wilmington (NC) Fire Department.
If you are not a member and interested in joining ASCET the $35 discount rate is good until September 1st. Members can earn 45 NICET CPD points by attending meetings and committee chairperson score additional points. The committees below are lacking chairpersons:
• Nominating – Selects and presents members and/or companies for chapter awards.
• Membership - Responsible for recruiting new members and review qualifications of applicant. Established recruitment goals and potential members are invited to attend Chapter meeting to learn the value of ASCET.
• Honors and Awards – Determines if members or companies are eligible to be named Technician, Member or Company of the Month. There are annual awards in each category that are presented in the May business meeting.
• Intersociety Relations – Report activities in other societies or organizations that would be of interest to chapter members such as training or seminars.
• Budget and Audit – Set up budget and audit Treasure’s Report and confirm bank deposits.
• ASCET/NICET Liaison – Keeps informed of ASCET and NICET news to present to members at meetings.
