ASTM F 1346 Safety Cover

IRC appendix G section AG105.5 allows spas or hot tubs equipped with an ASTM F 1346 safety cover to be exempt from the barrier requirements.

What does that cover look like? Special features? Automatic??
 
Covers that meet ASTM F 1346 can come in many variations and can look very different and still meet the code. The code specifies how much weight to cover most support (485 pounds) has well as specifying the size of object they can be passed under the cover into the water (perimeter protection) and the surface must drain water and not have it pool on top to present a drowning hazard. There obviously are many more details which you can see by reading the complete code but these are the major points I remember.
