My father was an electrical contractor. He would supply me with light bulbs that I sold around town out of a wagon. It was pure profit on my end.

So this was first passed by GW Bush in 2007 and was a 15 year phase out. There are about 20 incandescent bulbs that are exempt such as 3-way bulbs, appliance, candelabra, rough service bulbs, etc. Right now incandescent makes up about 15% of lightbulb sales. If you want, you can still get your little red wagon and sell bulbs to your neighbors.

Considering the advances in led technology and reliability, and wide variety of styles, it’s not a bad move.
