Bathtub overflows IRC

After reading the posts on the other website I have gathered that there is an official interpretation that overflow protection is required on IRC bathtubs. I noticed some heated debate on this subject. My understanding is that it is NOT required for commercial under the IPC. Is this correct?

Jeff - Is that covered in one (or more) of the standards listed under 'Approval'?

There is an issue concerning this subject for the hearings.
