Boulder city council approves commercial energy-efficiency reporting rules

by BizWest Staff on October 21, 2015

Commercial and industrial property owners in Boulder will soon be required to publicly report the energy efficiency of their buildings.

The Camera reports that the Boulder city council on Tuesday night gave final approval to an ordinance requiring such. The new rule will apply to existing buildings larger than 20,000 square feet, as well as new commercial and industrial buildings larger than 10,000 square feet and city-owned buildings of 5,000 square feet or more.

Fatboy:

Why don't you take that statement that I provided to the City Council stating :At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: "This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history."¹

If this doesn't stop it maybe publish it in the letters to the editor of the local newspaper.

That is a blatant shaming campaign, and with the public (or for that matter, anybody) having no knowledge of the metric used for efficiency, or the power requirement of the reporting entity, any public report is meaningless and worthless.

Once the little a55holes on the city council figure that out, they will instill some sort of blue ribben panel tomfvckery to anylize and provide "meaning" to any reported numbers.

All the businesses affected should tell them to go @#$% their hat.

Brent.
