Brain Tease Fuel Gas Shut Offs

A furnace for a mercantile fit out is located against the north wall of a mechanical room that is 12'x12'. The only gas shut off for the furnace is on the south wall clearly visible, accessible and labeled on a manifold that has other shut offs.

Is this compliant?

No! The shutoff valve must be located within 6 ft. of the appliance. See Section 409.5 in the 2006 IFGC.
