Build Smart - Hurricane Season Begins Today

As insurance companies abandon Florida, developers will be forced to adapt to the environment.
 
Can't view the video up here in Canada, but this topic gives me a chance to vent about hurricane ties. Canadian Codes only require them in six locations... the threshold for required use is well above the wind force triggers that cause considerable damage.

Agree.
However, 8 insurance companies are now coming on board to the hurricane insurance market in Florida. The state has spearheaded this to take pressure off of Citizens Insurance, which is the insurance that I have.
