Last week, looked a bit at the ceiling of a ONroute Service Centre on 401 Ontario when stopping by, it looks like there is no sprinkler system ( I may be wrong).

There is a description here about ONroute Service Centre https://architizer.com/projects/onroute-service-centres/, where commercial/retail is indicated as the classification of building, my question, what group and division specifically would these ONroute Service Centres be classified as? Is sprinkler system required?

Would depend on many factors: building area, number of stories, potentially the number of streets. Looks like a one-storey, so presuming E occupancy and given your observation of no sprinkers, would be one of 3.2.2.66 or 3.2.2.68 (nbc 2015).

I think I found the answer.

Sizes of OnRoute from the following link: "SIZE: 20 Sites Ranging from 8,000 ft² to 20,000 ft² / 800 m² to 1,900 m²"

Ontario building code: classification group A, division 2, facing 3 streets, one story, 2400m², not sprinkled
