Hello,

I am designing a building that has retail units in the main floors and office spaces in the second floor- Does any one know what should be the classification of my building.
which article should I refer to for determining my building construction properties and restriction (From articles 3.2.2.20. to 3.2.2.83 of Ontario Building Code)?

Thanks

Welcome

There are only a few that speak Canadian on here. Give it a couple of days for reply

I would like to help, but trying to follow the OBC is more difficult than reading and understanding an operations manual for a nuclear power plant.

See 3.2.2.6. for guidance on multiple major occupancies. Basically, you treat the building as if it was wholly one of you major occupancies and see which of the conditions are the most restrictive. That is the one that applies.

Interesting

You might get more responses if you try posting this in the Commercial Building Codes subforum, rather than the Accessibility subforum.
