ROLLINSFORD — A building under construction in Rollinsford collapsed on Wednesday afternoon.
Police Chief Bob Ducharme, says the builder didn't notify emergency services, but, “we noticed it driving by and we notified the town building inspector who then requested the fire department respond.”
Rollinsford Police Lieutenant Jonathan Uraskevich, said officials were aware of the collapse.
“We were aware that it collapsed and Mick Construction was aware. Tom Clark, the building inspector, was notified. Later on the in the evening, about two hours after it happened, a passerby noticed it and called 911 thinking it had just happened and that someone might be trapped. That is how the fire department ended up there after the fact. They responded but no one was found and no one was injured,” Uraskevich said.
The owners of the property, Mick Construction in Rollinsford, referred questions to the builder, Tobin Gray of South Berwick, Maine. A call by Foster's to Gray was not returned.
