On January 1, 2011, the California Building Standards Commission (BSC) unanimously adopted the mandatory Green Building Standards Code (CALGREEN). This mandatory code, which is the first of its kind in the United States, requires all new buildings in California to be more energy efficient and environmentally responsible. In this presentation, Mr. Levin will discuss the legal issues and implications of this new code requirement, and how it may affect your practice. He will also discuss important risk management techniques and principles for sustainable design projects.
