What is the color of the path of travel stripping from a curb ramp to the pedestrian access of trash enclosure?

I found it only need to be contrasting color.

is that mean white or yellow on ac paving and blue on concrete? may be?

Does the striping need to be a different (contrasting) color? I thought only the truncated dome warning pads had to be a contrasting color.

I'm on the opposite side of the country from California. Recently I have been noticing things like the diagonal striping in the access aisles of accessible parking spaces being done in blue rather than in white. It's definitely not required under any code I'm aware of, but someone -- somewhere -- must think it's either required or that it's a good idea.

California might have a rule regarding colors. I remember when the icon of a wheel chair that is painted on the pavement was not defined for dimensions. There was a lawsuit about the icon being too large as that draws unnecessary attention to the people that use the accessible parking stalls. As I recall the outside measurement can't exceed 36". I guess 48" is shouting....lookatme, lookatme.

Neither the ADAS nor A117.1 requires a wheelchair symbol to be painted on the pavement in an accessible parking stall.

A117.1-2017:

502.3 Vehicle space marking. Car and van parking spaces
shall be marked to define the width. Where parking spaces
are marked with lines, the width measurements of parking
spaces and adjacent access aisles shall be made from the centerline
of the markings.

502.4.4 Marking. Access aisles shall be marked so as to
discourage parking in them. Where access aisles are
marked with lines, the width measurements of access
aisles and adjacent parking spaces shall be made from the
centerline of the markings.

502.7 Identification. Where parking spaces are required to
be identified by signs, the signs shall include the International
Symbol of Accessibility complying with Section 703.6.3.1.
Signs identifying van parking spaces shall contain the designation
“van accessible.” Signs shall be 60 inches (1525 mm)
minimum above the floor of the parking space, measured to
the bottom of the sign.

Nothing about color of striping, and no requirement for a wheelchair symbol on the pavement -- only on a sign, IF provided. (My state requires a sign, and the exact language is specified in statute.)

2010 ADAS:

502.1 General. Car and van parking spaces shall comply with 502. Where parking spaces are marked
with lines, width measurements of parking spaces and access aisles shall be made from the centerline of
the markings.

502.3.3 Marking. Access aisles shall be marked so as to discourage parking in them.

502.6 Identification. Parking space identification signs shall include the International Symbol of
Accessibility complying with 703.7.2.1. Signs identifying van parking spaces shall contain the
designation “van accessible.” Signs shall be 60 inches (1525 mm) minimum above the finish floor or
ground surface measured to the bottom of the sign.

If you're talking about a:

PEDESTRIAN WAY. A route by which a pedestrian may
pass.

Then I don't know of any requirements for color at the state code level. There might be something at the local level though.

If you're talking about an access aisle, then:

11B-502.3.3 Marking. Access aisles shall be marked with
a blue painted borderline around their perimeter. The
area within the blue borderlines shall be marked with
hatched lines a maximum of 36 inches (914 mm) on center
in a color contrasting with that of the aisle surface, preferably
blue or white. The words "NO PARKING" shall be
painted on the surface within each access aisle in white
letters a minimum of 12 inches (305 mm) in height and
located to be visible from the adjacent vehicular way.
Access aisle markings may extend beyond the minimum
required length.

An access aisle is defined as:

ACCESS AISLE. [DSA-AC] An accessible space adjacent to
or between vehicle spaces that provides clearances in
compliance with this code.

Do a google search (images) on "access aisles" or "access aisles in california" and you'll see quite a range. Most of them are compliant.

I am talking about a PEDESTRIAN WAY.

it is not about parking stall or accessible aisle between parking stall. if it is accessible aisle between parking stall, I will paint it blue.

Is that required?
it is required in California, for dormitories trash enclosure, it needs to provide stripping to indicate PEDESTRIAN WAY from a curb ramp to the pedestrian access of trash enclosure, so that all people has equal ability to access to the trash enclosure.

ha.. , in my opinion everyone in California everyone is way too sensitive and with social media and all those stupid influencers, I am in my early 30s, but I enjoy the good old days just joke around anything.

yes ISA symbol should be 36X36. A lot of things in California cannot be over exaggerated to show or discuss, that's why we use accessible in lieu of "handicap".
