What is meant by #2 Other portions of the building in CBC section 1027.5? I have a 2 story B occupancy building, the tenant improvement includes a new exit stair on the exterior of the building. The stair is not enclosed. The stair is protected as outlined in section 1027.6. The stair is 1' away from the building. The stair lands parallel to the same face of the building in a straight run. There are no protrusions from the face the stair is on or walls that return towards the stair. Is this stair in conformance with CBC 1027.6 or dose it need to be 10' separated from the building?
