The 2024 International Codes (I-Codes) introduce a new, digitally integrated format designed by the International Code Council (ICC) to enhance usability and accessibility across both print and digital platforms. In this update, marginal markings indicating technical changes, such as lines or asterisks, are replaced with QR codes at the start of each revised section. Users can scan these QR codes or enter a unique code online to view detailed changes from the prior code cycle. This feature provides direct access to ICC’s Digital Codes website, where new language appears in blue, while deletions and relocations are marked for clarity. Additionally, those registered with Digital Codes Premium gain advanced search capabilities, expert commentary, and more comprehensive code history tracking. For 2024, the ICC also introduced NFC tagging on select code books, such as the International Mechanical Code and International Plumbing Code, allowing users to validate authenticity and access exclusive resources by tapping a device to the book’s cover
