A control area is 810 cu ft, which equates to one 150-lb cylinder of chlorine.

Compressed chlorine gas shall have an exempt amount of 810 cu ft.

Chlorine gas was used in WWI. They called mustard gas. It will kill you in a heart beat if you breath enough of it. It will make you hurt if you just get a whiff.

Mustard gas contains clorine but is Bis(2-chloroethyl) sulfide (Cl-CH2CH2)2S

Chlorine gas is Cl2

Chlorine injures by converting to hydrochloric acid, and hypochlorous acid when the chlorine is exposed to moisture on the skin, mucous membranes, or in the lungs. These acids cause nasty chemical burns internal and external.

Both were used as chemical warfare agents in WW I and elesewhere.
