If you are looking for hands on fire protection training, then these are the classes for you. Classes are conducted in Chubb's Training Center which is located in Warren, NJ (30 minutes from NYC). Facility managers, sprinkler contractors, professional engineers and compliance officers have found these sessions to be informative, practical and applicable to their jobs. All classes are now CEU approved in NJ, PA, NY and CT for building and fire officials. Chubb is an "AIA/CES" approved provider for architects and New York PE's requiring CEU credit. Module 1 – Introduction to Sprinkler Systems, Part 1(Basic Purpose and Operation, Introduction to NFPA 13)

In this module you will learn about the seven basic types of sprinkler systems, NFPA 13 classification of occupancies, and basic sprinkler design densities in relation to building occupancies. Basic sprinkler design layout, components of sprinklers systems from water supply to sprinkler head, control valves, and electronic supervision of valves will be covered.

Module 2 – Introduction to Sprinkler Systems, Part 2(NFPA 13 Installation Requirements, Types of Sprinkler Heads – Ratings, Classification and Coding)

In this module you will be introduced to NFPA 13 sprinkler requirements for installation, the different types of sprinklers and their designed purpose, and common sprinkler system impairments. Sprinkler head components, limitations, and obstructions will be covered.

Module 3 – Wet Pipe Sprinkler Systems

In this module you will about the operation, usage and components of wet pipe sprinkler systems following NFPA 13 guidelines. Wet pipe system valves, alarms, and anti-freeze systems will be covered. Inspection, testing and maintenance of wet pipe systems will be reviewed.

Module 4 – Dry Pipe Sprinkler Systems

In this module you will about the operation, usage and components of dry pipe sprinkler systems following NFPA 13 guidelines. Dry pipe system valves types, alarms, air supply, and quick opening devices will be covered. Location and protection of dry pipe valves and use in freezers and refrigerated areas will be reviewed.

Module 5 – Fire Detection for Pre-action and Deluge Sprinkler Systems

In this module you will learn the various types of fire detection devices (ionization, photoelectric, rate of rise, flame, etc.), how they operate, the advantages and disadvantages of each type of device and recognition of their key operational components. This Module is a pre requisite for Module 6 “Pre-action and Deluge sprinkler systems”.

Module 6 – Pre-action and Deluge Sprinkler Systems

Module 5 “Fire Detection for Pre-action and Deluge Sprinkler Systems” is a pre requisite for this module.

In this module you will learn about the various types of pre-action sprinkler (single interlock, double interlock, cycle on/off, etc.) and deluge systems, how they operate, and the purpose for each type of system. NFPA 13 requirements for the installation of pre-action and deluge systems will be covered.
