Code requirements related to protection of PEX piping

I have used the Manabloc home run system in the past (what was Vanguard and is now owned by Viega) with success and liked it. I always had it installed in the wall and drilled 30 or so holes in the adjoining studs and sole plate below for all the runs coming to the Manabloc. I was thinking of surface mounting this time and leading them right through holes in the floor below. My thinking is it will be easier to install and less suseptible to damage if it is where it can be seen rather than concealed in the wall. It is also accessable if you did have a problem with a fitting, etc. at some point.

Do you know of any code restrictions on doing it this way? (I am the GC, not the plumber)

Robert,

FWIW, typically we defer to the manufacturer' installation requirements. Also, 'not '

to install these on exterior walls, because of the freezing potential.
